| Posted: 09 Jan 2010 07:15 AM PST  Stefanía Fernández Krupij, (born September 4, 1990), is Miss Universe 2009, from Mérida, Venezuela; she represented her country, Venezuela, in the Miss Universe 2009 pageant in the Bahamas. Fernández won the Miss Venezuela 2008 title in a pageant held in Caracas, Venezuela on September 10, 2008. She was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Dayana Mendoza, Miss Venezuela 2007 and Miss Universe 2008. Fernández also won the "Miss Elegance", "Best Body" and "Best Face", titles. She became the second Miss Trujillo to win that title since the Miss Venezuela pageant first began in 1952. The first was Bárbara Palacios, Miss Venezuela 1986 and Miss Universe 1986. Stefanía is of Spanish Galician, Russian, Ukrainian, and Polish origin; she practices tennis and swim. Her mother is Nadia Krupij Holojad and her father is Carlos Fernández, who was kidnapped in 2005 in Barinas, Venezuela, for five days.   |

She is the younger sister of Spencer Pratt, and the sister-in-law of Heidi Pratt. She is friends with Lauren Conrad. It is shown on The Hills that she does not have a strong relationship with her brother. She is regularly featured on E!'s The Soup. Stephanie Pratt currently attends FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising).[citation needed] She started the rumor that her brother Spencer and his wife Heidi Montag were tortured while on the set of I'm A Celebrity... She first came to prominence for her role as Jasira in the film Towelhead. In 2006, Bishil was chosen to play the lead in Alan Ball's film, Towelhead, an adaptation of the novel of the same name. She completed filming Wayne Kramer's project, Crossing Over, starring Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta and Ashley Judd. In 2007, Bishil was chosen by Variety as one of the 10 Actors to watch. At the 2008 Young Hollywood Awards, She was chosen as "One to Watch" She also appeared in Vanity Fair in their young Hollywood portfolio. She was nominated for a Spirit Award in the best actress category for her role in Towelhead.   |
